Blessings ~ and welcome to my site!
With a knack for realistic drawing since a very early age, I was getting commissions and sales by high school.
However, greatly loving the outdoors, I instead pursued a degree in zoology/wildlife biology, with plans to continue to go on to do research. Even so, I would continue to get commissions and other creative opportunities.
I’ve been painting with watercolor for decades (never mind how many), starting with a commission that begged for a medium with which I had no real experience.
I discovered that I loved the challenge that watercolor offered working in realism. It’s a rather unforgiving opponent, so a war of strategy begins and ends in every piece I do. I find we actually work rather well together once the battle is done.
Creation has been and is still my greatest muse, and I am grateful that northern Minnesota has a lot to offer!

Shout out to our friend Bruce Donnelly, a wonderful former watercolorist and graphic designer. He offered a short lesson of the basics, and then followed with the unexpected and generous gift of his brushes, paints, and an Arches Watercolor Block. Thus I was launched into my foray of a decades-long and ever-continuing journey of watercolor.
